Are You?

A registered voter in Vermilion Parish?
A registered voter who does not need assistance?
Able to attend a 1-2 hour training course?
At least 17 years old and a high school senior or older?
Interested in earning a paycheck while serving the community?

If you answered ‘YES’ to the questions above, you could help your community by becoming an election worker for upcoming elections.

Election Day Worker Job Description:

Work only on election day for the entire day
Arrive at least 1 hour prior to polls opening
Earn up to $200

You must be able to:

Provide your own transportation to your assigned precinct
You must remain at your assigned location all day, you are unable to leave during your shift
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided for you

Are you interested in becoming an Election Commissioner?

To become a commissioner, click on the Commissioner Test Link below and follow the prompts of the training course. Once completed, submit a screenshot of your score to the Vermilion Parish Clerk of Court via email to vanessav@vermilionclerk.com. Your name will be added to the eligible commissioners list for selection by the Board of Election Supervisors for upcoming elections. You will receive a letter notifying you of the date and location in which you were selected to serve.

Take the next step and become a Commissioner-In-Charge:

Once you are comfortable with your position as a commissioner, you may want to consider taking the next steps to become a commissioner-in-charge. Commissioners-in-charge maintain order at the polling place during the election and opening and closing of the voting machines. They are also responsible for delivering election results and all paperwork to the Clerk of Court after polls close. To qualify as a commissioner-in-charge, you must have served in at least two elections as a commissioner.
